Attention is again being drawn to the unwelcome actions of a minority of divers who insist on removing items from wrecks when diving around the UK coastline. This time, however, the issue has taken on much more momentum and there is a very real danger that wreck diving will be banned. This is not something which will go away if we ignore it. Everyone who enjoys diving wrecks or would like to dive wrecks has a duty to examine this issue, inform themselves of the facts surrounding the argument and then take whatever action they feel appropriate. There have been two Early Day Motions tabled in the Commons which have attracted a lot of attention so you may wish to write to your MP and make your feelings known.
